Assorted Betta Female

An "Assorted Betta Female" refers to a female Betta splendens fish that comes in a variety of colors and patterns, rather than a specific color. These fish are smaller and have shorter fins than males but are known for their intelligence and diverse, vibrant coloration, making them suitable for sorority tanks with proper conditions, or for individual community tank placement. 

Appearance & Temperament

• Color:"Assorted" signifies a mix of possible colors, such as blue, red, yellow, pink, or even patterned variations like mustard gas. 
• Fins:Female bettas possess shorter, more streamlined fins compared to the long, flowing fins of males. 
• Size:They typically grow to about 2 to 2.5 inches (5 to 6 cm) in length. 
• Behavior:While generally more peaceful than males, they can still exhibit some aggression, especially if not given enough space or hiding spots. 

Tank & Care

• Tank Size:A minimum of a 5-gallon tank is recommended for a single female, but larger tanks, such as 20 gallons or more, are needed for a "sorority" (a group of females). 
• Environment:They require a tropical freshwater environment with a stable temperature of 78–82°F (25–28°C) and a pH range of 6.5–7.5. 
• Tank Setup:Ample plants and hiding places, such as caves and ornaments, are essential. 
• Diet:They are carnivores and should be fed a high-quality diet of betta pellets, supplemented with live or frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
