Betta Black Samurai (Male)

A male Black Samurai Betta is characterized by a bold, metallic, armor-like black body with contrasting iridescent scales, often silver or white, on the head and back. These striking fish are prized for their unique appearance, a product of line breeding within the Betta splendens species. They are generally hardy, intelligent, and require a varied diet and stable water conditions, with only one male being kept per aquarium due to their territorial nature. 

Appearance

• Coloration:A deep, metallic black is the primary color, with iridescent silver, white, or gold scales creating a "samurai armor" effect on the head and back. 
• Fins:They have short, plakat-style fins. 
• Body:Their bodies are stocky and cylindrical, typical of the plakat variety. 
• Other Characteristics:They are known for the reflection of light off their metallic scales, creating a dramatic appearance. 

Temperament & Care

• Territorial:Male Black Samurai Bettas are territorial and aggressive, so they should be housed alone in an aquarium. 
• Diet:They are carnivores and thrive on a varied diet of high-quality Betta pellets and frozen or live foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia.
• Tank Environment:A minimum tank size of 4-5 gallons is recommended, with a stable temperature of 75-82°F (24-28°C). 
• Filter:A gentle filter is advised to avoid strong currents, as they prefer slow-moving or standing water. 
• Lifespan:With proper care, they can live for 2-4 years.
