White Halfmoon Betta (Male)

A White Halfmoon Betta is an elegant, pure white Betta splendens variant with a distinctive, flowing tail that fans out into a perfect half-moon shape, often with a shimmering or iridescent quality. These exotic fish are known for their striking appearance and require care similar to other bettas, including a heated, filtered aquarium with low water flow and a varied diet of high-protein foods. 

Appearance

• Color:The defining characteristic is a shimmering or sparkling, pure ivory-white color across the entire body and fins.
• Tail:The name "Halfmoon" refers to the tail, which, when flared, resembles a capital "D" or a 180-degree fan, creating a semicircular shape.
• Fins:Males typically have large, flowing fins, including the caudal (tail) fin, dorsal, and ventral fins.

Care Requirements

• Aquarium:A heated and filtered aquarium with a minimum of 5 gallons is recommended, providing enough space for the fish to swim and explore.
• Water Conditions:Water temperatures should be maintained between 75-80°F (24-27°C) with a pH of 6.5-7.5.
• Water Flow:A gentle water flow is essential because the long fins can be easily damaged by strong currents.
• Diet:A varied diet of high-quality flakes, pellets, frozen, or live foods rich in animal protein is necessary.
• Social Behavior:Like most male bettas, White Halfmoon Bettas are semi-aggressive and should be housed alone.

Origin

• The White Halfmoon Betta is a variant of Betta splendens that was selectively bred from stock originating in Thailand.
